bio: I've been writing
poetry since I was sixteen. I'm retired from 24 years as a speech therapist in the
schools. I am also writing short stories and a novel. Some of my
favorite poems are:
Snowflakes
Snowflakes,
winding and turning
riding the wind
fall exhausted
to the earth
to
rest.
Aspen Leaf
Aspen leaf,
suspended by slender twig
as the autumn breeze makes
the leaf quiver in the early
morning air.
Aspen leaf,
held in time as others
drift earthward to mingle
with the earth and rise anew
when spring comes again.
Aspen leaf,
suspended by slender twig
captive, wishing to be free
to continue the cycle
that alone brings acceptence
quivers with anticipation
in the early morning air.
Departure
Be not sad that I must go
for even though spring blossoms
float away in summers wind
the trees do not weep
The seed remains to sustain life
and so memories of love shared
do not fade, but grow strong
until again we
meet.
